Visions Committee

• The Visions Committee is a community advisory board that meets quarterly each year to review the development of services at Ann Arbor Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. Meetings are typically held in January, April, July and October, and involve physicians, vocational specialists, administrative staff, and members of the business community. Meetings are held at TerryB's Restaurant in Dexter, Michigan. Topics of discussion include marketing and outreach efforts, staffing and caseload changes, program development, legislative challenges to program accessibility, strategic planning, and outcomes measurement. Ann Arbor Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. values the input it receives from external stakeholders and incorporates this into its strategic planning and program development activities.

  Ann Arbor Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. uses Terry Bs, a highly acclaimed and renowned restaurant, as a vocational work site. Individuals are involved in many work related tasks including kitchen preparation work, repair, maintenance and landscaping. Their involvement and training prepares them for job opportunities in the community. They experience “real life” work responsibilities and gain the skills necessary for a successful career. All individuals are employees of Terry Bs and can list their involvement on resumes. They earn a paycheck, engage in meaningful activity and gain confidence in their abilities.

  The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services maintains this gateway website devoted to health information. Common topics include AIDS, diabetes, cancer, tobacco, and several more. Each selection presents information and links to other sites and organizations, along with contact information. Healthfinder includes a search engine that will allow access to a variety of resources dealing with stress.
